Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review project plans and specifications to prepare detailed mechanical cost estimates.
  • Conduct material take-offs and assess labor, material, and equipment costs.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary data for estimating.
  • Evaluate mechanical systems and recommend cost-saving solutions without compromising quality.
  • Prepare and submit accurate estimates, including labor, materials, and overhead costs.
  • Analyze and respond to requests for proposals (RFPs) and other tender documents.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with internal teams to ensure all aspects of mechanical estimation are accurate and aligned with project timelines.
  • Maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers for up-to-date pricing and lead times.
  • Review and update estimates throughout the project lifecycle, including scope changes and value engineering efforts.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Mechanical Estimator in the construction industry (general contractor experience preferred).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, piping, and fire protection.
  • Proficient in mechanical estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, ProEst, and similar tools).
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
