Key Responsibilities:
- Review project plans and specifications to prepare detailed mechanical cost estimates.
- Conduct material take-offs and assess labor, material, and equipment costs.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary data for estimating.
- Evaluate mechanical systems and recommend cost-saving solutions without compromising quality.
- Prepare and submit accurate estimates, including labor, materials, and overhead costs.
- Analyze and respond to requests for proposals (RFPs) and other tender documents.
- Coordinate and collaborate with internal teams to ensure all aspects of mechanical estimation are accurate and aligned with project timelines.
- Maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers for up-to-date pricing and lead times.
- Review and update estimates throughout the project lifecycle, including scope changes and value engineering efforts.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience as a Mechanical Estimator in the construction industry (general contractor experience preferred).
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, piping, and fire protection.
- Proficient in mechanical estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, ProEst, and similar tools).
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
- Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
